Molalla High Indians Baseball News

Indians pitching has unfortunately suffered quite a bit even with a stellar 2.52 ERA by Sophomore pitcher Damian Pingo who has also has 3 wins to his credit.  The Indians top reliever is Senior Matt Roark who has notched 2 wins 1 save and 27 strikeouts in 25 innings pitched.

“I really believe we have a lot of quality players, but things just haven’t come together in some crucial areas” stated Coach Dantona.  “We still have 3 league games left and I hope we will finish those off in a more successful manner” continued Coach Dantona.

Tough Season so far for the Molalla Indians

The Molalla Indians have had a difficult season this year, although they had a relatively good Non-League start to the year.  The Indians have struggled during the league season.  The Indians league record now stands at 3 Wins and 9 Losses.  “We just haven’t had the pitching or defense we need this year to contend” stated Head Coach Jim Dantona.  We’ve had some bright spots, but we just can’t seem to put it all together.

Although the Indians aren’t playing the kind of baseball they had expected or hoped for this season they have had a number of bright spots.  Sophomore Linden Mackenzie is hitting a strong .433 to lead the Indians batting averages, while Junior Jeff Larsen leads the Indians with 15 RBIs.  Sophomore Dylan Wynn has been an unexpected surprise in the Indians offense hitting .319.
